Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

Job Description:

Our mental health practice is currently seeking master level interns and/or practicum students to provide counseling and support to our practice. Professionals must be currently enrolled in a graduate program leading to an advanced degree in the helping disciplines (e.g. marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, clinical social work, etc).

Professionals seeking internship or practicum experience leading to graduate degrees in any of the following disciplines are encouraged to apply: Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work.

Applicants must be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Prospective professionals will be placed in any of our programs which include the following:

Community Based Mental Health:

This professional would provide individual and family counseling to assigned children, adolescents, adults and/or families. The professional must have time management and organizational skills. Within this setting, our professionals will provide the following tasks: implementation of their service plans, individual and family counseling, consultation and collaboration with outpatient providers and schools, and provide linkages to support positive treatment outcomes. This placement allows flexible scheduling Sunday-Saturday at your leisure.

Medical Assistant

Job Description:

Stepping Stone Community Services is an outpatient community mental health center offering the highest quality mental health services. We offer individual and family therapy, substance abuse treatment and medication evaluation and management. We are certified my the Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services Board.

We are seeking highly organized self-starters with excellent communication skills for our open Full-Time Medical Assistant position. We have a great opportunity for a results-oriented team player who can effectively and efficiently support the daily operations of our clinical department.

Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, and with the support of our Physicians and Nurse Practitioners, the Medical Assistant is responsible for clinical patient services and physician clinical support. The Medical Assistant works with a team to support the needs of the prescribing clinical team to perform administrative and clinical duties under the direction of the provider.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direct supervision of a physician, call, Escribe, email or fax in routine prescriptions per physician orders; accurately document in electronic medical record system and assist in electronic prescription refills.

  • Utilize EHR for patient scheduling, charge slips and routine patient instructions.

  • Assist in updating patient account information for accuracy, including but not limited to: contact, mailing and pharmacy information.

  • Perform basic administrative, clerical, and technical supportive services.

  • Complete and process miscellaneous forms as needed, including but not limited to: prior authorizations, insurance, and medication request forms.

  • Retrieve phone messages, return phone calls, and chart documentation in a timely manner as needed.

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the team lead, administration, or physicians.

  • Train to work in additional areas as needed

  • Perform drug screens

  • Conduct patient outreach, when indicated, to discuss screenings needs, clinical support, lab request, referrals, appointments, or any other need specified by the physician.

Requirements:

  • Minimum one year experience working in a clinical setting maintaining documentation and office operations.

  • Proficiency with EHR systems.

  • Ability to read and understand medical records.

  • Basic medical terminology knowledge.

  • Strong customer service and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, required.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.

  • Proficient in Word and Electronic Health Records

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential or sensitive issues in a responsible manner.

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  • Medical Assistant (MA) Certification

  • Medical Assistant Diploma

SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR

Job description

Stepping Stone Community Services, LLC provides outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment to individuals from the community. We provide individual, couples and group therapy in a comfortable and confidential setting.

We are looking for a SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR to conduct substance abuse assessments, provide SUD case management and facilitate morning IOP group.

HOURS: 8:45am-4:00pm (Monday through Thursday)

Peer Support Specialist

Stepping Stone is currently seeking two Peer Support Specialists to assist with providing peer services in an outpatient office and field-based setting. The Peer Support Specialist will perform a wide range of tasks to assist peers (clients) gain independence within the community and take ownership over their recovery process. They are a role model for persons with a substance use disorder, mental health disorder, or both (co-occurring). By sharing their lived experience, the Peer Support Specialist helps to prevent relapse and promote meaningful long-term recovery. They are one peer helping another!


Full-Time with Benefits

  • 40 hours annually vacation

Job Duties include:

  • Complete identified social determinants of health screening tool(s) with individuals seeking services.

  • Work with individual seeking services to identify up to three (3) top social determinants of health (SDOH) barriers to engaging in services.

  • Provide connection to needed services in the community to address top SDOH concerns that would prevent a person from engaging in treatment services.

  • Ensure that connections provided are viable and connection occurs.

  • Meet individuals where they are and work to ensure engagement in treatment services as evidenced by attendance and number of sessions.

  • Work with individuals and their ongoing treatment providers to provide a 'hot handoff' to ensure continued service delivery engagement.

  • Engage with individuals and their family/natural supports seeking behavioral health services at the provider agency as referred to the Peer Supporter.

  • Receive referrals from cross-system partners for individuals that the referral source has identified as high risk for non-engagement to assist with engaging in services or having high SDOH needs.

  • Provide outreach and active engagement in person and in the community to people referred/identified.

  • Share their own experience with behavioral health when appropriate with the person referred to create an understanding of a common experience and provide hope.

  • Utilize a client-centered approach with strong relationship building skills to work with diverse populations.

  • Complete all documentation, tracking, and data outcomes as requested

  • All other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma, GED equivalent or higher is required.

  • Must have a current, active Peer Support certification issued the State of Ohio or other credentialing authority.

  • Minimum of two or more years' full-time direct practice (voluntary or paid) in peer recovery.

  • Minimum of 40 contact hours of peer focused training and education through an MHA approved course.

  • Must take the national exam within 45 days of hire, if NCPSS exam not already possessed.

  • This position requires having personal, lived experience with behavioral healthcare services, mental health or addiction recovery.

  • Must have personal experience navigating community systems and be knowledgeable about available resources and services available within the community. Must be recovery focused and have a strong desire to help others; serving as a positive role model.

  • Must have a valid Driver's License, proof of auto insurance and a driving record in accordance with agency standards. Requires use of personal vehicle.
